We analyzed the medical records of 438 patients with skeletal narrowing of the maxilla to analyze the causes ofpostoperative complications after surgical treatment and developed methods of their prevention.Purpose of the study. To analyze the medical records of patients who underwent surgically assisted rapid palatalexpansion.
Material and methods. We analyzed the medical records of 438 patients who underwent surgically assisted rapidpalatal expansion during the period from August 2016 to November 2024.
Results. The article summarizes the resulting postoperative complications, describes preventive measuresand methods of treating complications. According to the analyzed data of 438 clinical cases, 19 postoperativecomplications occurred.
Conclusions. We propose an optimal prevention and treatment strategy for postoperative complications aftersurgically assisted rapid palatal expansion.
