The article presents a literature review that analyzes the occurrence of chronic cicatricial stenosis of the larynx and trachea in childhood and the difficulties of its treatment. Laryngeal and tracheal cicatricial stenosis is one of the most complex and unsolved problems of modern otorhinolaryngology in both children and adults. Despite the variety of methods of conservative and surgical treatment, including endoscopic minimally invasive surgery and open laryngeal and tracheal reconstruction, there is no single algorithm for the management of patients with cicatricial stenosis of the larynx and trachea. Treatment is often long-term and multistage, thus, coordination between pediatric and adult institutions is crucial for timely and qualified medical care.
